Ambleside House is situated in the leafy suburb of Pinelands, Cape Town.  Built in 1927 the Cape Dutch gabled, thatched manor house is one of many such homesteads in the area that formed part of the first Garden City development in South Africa

Pinelands is a very quaint suburb which is more or less self-contained.  There is a shopping centre nearby with all the major conveniences including a Pick n Pay supermarket, Woolworths, all the main banks, post office, estate agents, doctor, dentist, etc.

At the bottom of Broadwalk, 200m away, there is a smaller centre with a Super Spar, ATMs, video shop, Italian restaurant, coffee shop, hair dresser, pharmacy and florist.

Access to major highways is easy with the suburb situated just off the N2 with links from there to the N1, M5 and M3.  The railway station is located at the top end of Broadwalk.
